This document aims to present the actions and projects conducted, monitored or initiated during the first two years of technical cooperation established between the French Development Agency (AFD), CODATU and the Ministry of Transport of Tunisia since February 2016.
This technical cooperation program was launched to respond to the challenges of coordination, planning and financing of the urban transport sector in Tunisia. Funded by the Fund for Technical Expertise and Exchanges (FEXTE), this project aims to improve the quality, efficiency and attractiveness of urban transport in Tunisian agglomerations in response to the mobility needs of residents and economic actors. CODATU intervenes within the framework of this program as facilitator of the cooperation, and accompanies the Ministry and the public companies through the organization of workshops, trainings and technical visits. In addition, CODATU participates in launching studies and preparing structuring projects.
This document makes it possible to share the work carried out as well as the current projects, through 5 key concepts identified in the Tunisian context for a sustainable urban mobility policy:
- I / Change the institutional framework
- II / Structure cities by public transport
- III / Put the user at the heart of the concerns
- IV / Dare to innovate
- V / Consider all the mobilities
As a bonus, a card-game “Move in Greater Tunis with the future Fast Rail Network”!
